چکیده

The change in project cost, or cost growth, occurs from many factors, some of which are related to soil problem conditions that may during construction and/or site investigation period. This paper described a new improvement method with minimum solution by using polymer fiber materials having length (3 cm) both directions and (2.5 mm) thickness, distributed uniform medium dense .sandy at different depths (B, 1.5B 2B) below the footings. Three square footings has been used (5,7.5 10 carry above lever arm loading system design for such purposes. These fibers were depth (0.1B) footing base down investigated depth. It was found initial vertical settlement highly affected early stage due complex Soil-Fiber Mixture (SFM) footing. failure load value proposed model any case increased compared un-reinforced increasing improving Bearing Capacity Ratio (BCR) soil-fiber mixture ratio (1.4 2.5), (1.7 4.9), (1.8 8) (5, 7.5, respectively. yield load-settlement started about 1.1% B while smaller percentage reflects benefits materialfor behavior. Comparison between experimental predicted (calculated) showed difference ranges within accepted limits foundation settlements

Improvement of Cement Properties Using a Single Multi-functional Polymer

Cementing of the casing pipes inside the wellbore is considered as one of the most expensive and difficult operations during the well construction process. A low quality cementing job leads to further repair operations, which are usually costly and time-consuming to conduct. Polymer cements are being used for decades in the oil and gas industry due to their improved properties such as sedimenta...

Effects of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer on Geotechnical Properties of Clayey Soil

Soil reinforcement can be considered as the combination of two parts. One part is soil for compressive stress capacity and another part is some material such as geosynthetics such as steel belts and fibers for tensile stress capacity. Soil improvement is one of the useful methods to increase the strength parameters of the soil. The main goal of this study is to evaluate the effects of GFRP on t...
